Thursday, August 10 Class that never ends

The first class was held in Veena Kukreja’s office, and it was only the California students. She had note cards about the emergence of Pakistan, which she recited word-for-word. It was extremely boring, but what made it amusing was how much she was bashing on Pakistan. I get the impression she doesn’t have any clue what’s going on with scheduling and doesn’t really care. She’s so clueless she’s going to call us as to when class will be held. Then, the second class “India and the World” has about 70 students, and the teacher Shanta Verma is really strict; she didn’t let four students sit in class because they were late, she belittled anyone who asked questions, and she told us that if we spelled an acronym wrong, she won’t hesitate to reward us with a 0 for the entire paper. She’s a good lecturer, but it was extremely uncomfortable in that room. The chairs were hard, I had no food or water, and it was stifling. I almost fell asleep, but was kept awake by the mere thought of being caught. Apparently, Snehal's sister called her to find out what time class was at, and she called her to the front of the class and chastised her publicly. Class lasted an eternity; I don’t know if I can handle it anymore. I came back and had lunch at Fiesta.
